Elementary School Challenge

Along with the day of festivities, we also hold an Elementary School Challenge. The school with the most participants, staff, students and family, win an award assembly. At the award assembly the school receives a plaque from the Mayor to display in their school, a guest speaker (typically an athlete), and each classroom receives playground equipment such as balls and Frisbies. The last two years Wilson Elementary has won the Elementary School Challenge. At both award assemblies students were taught the importance of being active, healthy and drug free. The first year an Olympic Bobsled Athlete spoke to the students and even brought his bobsled for the students to look at. Last year the Jarom and Heath Thurston, a local marathon runner and Iron Man athlete, spoke with the students about how they can participate in marathons and triathlons.

We are excited to include the Elementary Schools in this event.

To participate, please indicate your Elementary School on the registration form.
